Police Raid Scrap Yards In St Helens

A large operation took place on 22 April as several police officers raided several commercial premises in order to find stolen car parts and other items. The places included a well known second hand shop and scrap yards across St Helens based on information presented by the public. It was suggested that certain cars had been stolen and parts may be included within the items seized. Several men were arrested.

The story appeared in the St Helens Star together with a video. Obviously the aim is for the police and border authorities to get the message out, that even this types of crime is on their radar and will not pay. Most scrap yards across the UK are used to regular police checks, but this was a much bigger operation based on tip offs, according to the news article
